Overview and FYMM Vision
Feed Your Mind Music is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of schools that fail to offer a music program to students due to budget cuts or other circumstances. The goal of FYMM is to foster a commitment to young people and adults that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future through music.
FYMM is dedicated to the belief that music is an instrumental part of developing the mind for all ages. Studies show that children exposed to some form of music instruction, display superior cognitive performance in reading and math.
FYMM forms partnerships with local school districts, colleges, community based organizations, churches, local politicians and concerned citizens. In addition to no cost music instruction, partnerships and mentoring, students and musicians have an opportunity to give back to their community through the gift of music.
