Music Matters Green Team Workshop- Beginner Music Theory and Peformance
The “Music Matters Green Team Workshop” is designed to be a 8- 12 week course in beginning music theory and performance for children ages 5-18 that have no previous experience in music making. In this course, children learn the fundamentals of music theory including the bass and treble clefs as well as important rhythm concepts, such as beat and tempo.

In the performance segment of the workshop, children are able to put theory to the test with actual instruments provided to students at no cost to them. Students are able to practice their instruments on their own and in a group setting. Students are able to understand in a concrete way how the theory they are learning is practically applied. The class is aimed at building the skills necessary to perform basic melodies on age appropriate instruments as well as sing on pitch and together in a group. The class also seeks to build music literacy skills and connect their musical learning to the community through service involving performing on their new instruments.

Music Matters Blue Team Workshop- Intermediate Music Theory and Performance

The “Music Matters Blue Team Workshop” is designed to be a 8-12 week course in intermediate music performance for children ages 5-18 that have previous experience in music making. The class is aimed at enhancing and building new skills necessary to create and perform melodies on recorder , vocals piano, guitar or strings. The class also seeks to build enhanced music literacy and performance skills. Students in the Music Matters Blue Team class will connect their expanded musical learning to the community through service involving performing at local nursing homes, community and seasonal events.

*Students registering for the Music Matters Blue Team workshop must have written and practical knowledge of Green Team material.

Music Matters Golden Keys Workshop- Intermediate Music Theory and Performance

The Music Matters Golden Keys Workshop is specially designed to be a 8-12 week course in intermediate music theory and performance for senior adults. In this course, Seniors learn the fundamentals of music theory including the bass and treble clefs as well as important rhythm concepts, such as beat and tempo. This class can also be utilized as a refresher class for students that have previous experience in music theory and music performance.

The Golden keys Workshop is specifically designed to assist in the wellness of our Seniors. The course enhances energy, expands mental ability and provides a practical way to feel better emotionally and physically.

Music Production and Recording

Selected students will have the opportunity to learn basic music and video production from recording professionals learning the ins and outs of the software available used within the professional industry.
