Best Guitar Amps Under $500 For Blues

Picking out a guitar amp can be a long process if you aren’t sure about what you want. There are many options and many things to think about when buying a guitar amp. So instead of doing this series based on technical specs and popularity we’re going to focus mainly on the sounds and the genres that these amps will cater to most. So let’s get started.

When picking out an amp for blues you usually want an amp that sounds great on the edge of break up and takes overdrive and fuzz pedals well.

Boss Nextone Stage- $474.99

The Boss Nextone is a digital amp with tube emulations to give you accurate recreation of your favourite boutique amps without the boutique price tag. Don’t let the fact that this amp is digital stop you from giving it a try. This demo from Andertons will show how great it competes with tube amplifiers, If you ask me it sounds better than most if the amps in the video.

Fender Bassbreaker 007- $499

This is a great amp and Fender has been making great amps since the 1950s. This is one of the smallest amps on our list and is a modern classic. It is different from its cousin the Blues Jr, this amp has a great overdrive tone whilst the Blues Jr is more famous for being a clean tone legend and a great pedal platform amp.

Marshall Origin 5C- $399

Marshall origin is a great amp series if you’re interested in Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck style tones. It’s basically an affordable Plexi with a few tweaks that I’m sure you will love once you learn how to dial it in.

Stage Right by Monoprice- $249.99!!!

This amp is cheap and cheerful. If you want to start your journey into the world of tube amps this isn’t a bad place to start. This am comes loaded with a 12” Celestion speaker and a 1 watt mode which is great for bedroom practice.

I hope you enjoyed reading this list. Everything amp we shared are amps that we either own or would easily purchase without hesitation. If possible we definitely suggest trying out these amps before purchasing it so you know for sure its what you’re looking for.
